The rocks submitted are a collaboration between the Brazoria County Community Coalition and Alvin High Students located in Alvin, Texas. The health science students in Ms. Teresa Luneau and Ms. Marguerite Bagwell’s classes were asked to paint rocks to support Mental Health Awareness Month and suicide prevention. Many of students created rocks with a message of hope when times are dark. The artists were given the option to keep their creations, share with a friend or loved one, submit for the world record, or hid in the community for mental health awareness. The community rocks were hidden on May 9, 2021.
